So, I have read some really negative about refinancing… My husband and I can pay our mortgage we just want to roll our credit cards into one low payment. We ended rolling some our credits cards into one low interest cc last year but not all of them. We are not sure what to really do.. is a home equity better? or do we refinance? does this hurt our credit scores? whats the negative and positive sides? We don’t have more than 10k worth of cc debit, we are just sick of paying different interest rates and want to try to save a little $$$. I would love to hear your opinions and suggestions. :) thanks! i forgot to add we have an 80/20 mortgage

I am going through foreclosure on my condo. I know my credit is going to take a bit hit. I also currently have a credit card and a car loan but have never been late on any of those payments. Will my interest rates be raised on those because of the foreclosure?

Last Sept. my husband and I purchased our first home. We were gifted equity of 20% (probably more) so not to have to pay mortgage insurance (the home had previously belonged to his grandmother who is now deceased). The home needs some repairs. A new roof, siding and windows. We have the equity, and my husband’s credit is pretty good. We’ve been making regular (on time) payments with this bank for both a vehicle and the mortgage. Should we get: –a home equity line of credit, –a home equity loan, or –refinance the house? and Why?

Right now it’s 770. My concern is I have two car loans on it right now. My truck payment is $550. It will be paid off in Aug 09. But I also co-signed for my brother’s car which is $600 a month. He has 5 years left to pay it off. Should I have him refinance it in his name only to improve my score or would it even make a difference in the loan rates I get offered? If he does refi, how long will it take to come off my report?
